Debug support

 

In addition to fine debug support at the debugger level of NEWGEN and PIPS objects, higher level debug can be triggered using environment variables such as $DEAD_CODE_DEBUG_LEVEL on Figure 6 with the debug_on() called up to a matching debug_off(). For example, if $DEAD_CODE_DEBUG_LEVEL has the value $9$ or more, dead_statement_filter() displays its current statement on Figure 8.
